Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if I or my child need extra vitamin D3?

Low sunlight, limited outdoor time, or higher sunscreen use can reduce natural vitamin D production. A simple blood test can confirm your levels. Many families, especially in cooler or indoor climates, benefit from a supplement.

What's the difference between vitamin D2 and D3?

Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) is the active form your body naturally makes from sunlight. It's generally more effective at maintaining healthy levels than vitamin D2, making it the preferred form in most supplements.

How much vitamin D3 do adults and kids need?

Daily needs depend on age, sunlight, and diet. Infants need about 400 IU, kids need about 600 IU, adults need 600–800 IU, and older adults need 800–1,000 IU. Always check with your doctor before starting or changing supplements.

What is the best form of vitamin D3 — liquid, softgel, tablet, or gummy?

Liquid D3 is the most flexible and absorbable form — easy for both kids and adults to take and adjust by dose. Other forms like tablets or gummies may contain fillers or sugars.

Should vitamin D3 be taken with food?

Yes. Vitamin D3 is fat-soluble, so it's best absorbed when taken with meals that include healthy fats like olive oil, nuts, or avocado.

Can you get too much vitamin D3?

Yes — while uncommon, excessive intake (above 4,000 IU daily for most adults) can raise calcium levels too high. Always follow the dosing guide or your healthcare provider's advice.

What should I look for in a vitamin D3 supplement?

Look for third-party testing for purity and potency, transparent ingredient labels, allergen-free and clean formulations, vegan or plant-based sourcing if preferred, and packaging that protects from light and oxidation.

    Good value for the price

I have been buying Vitamin Ds for my son, and this one seems great value for the price. These 3 bottles cost the same as the one bottle that I spent.

Made in the USA! Good value, quick to dispense

Finally an alternative to the baby d drops and the 1ml syringe style of vitamin D for infants! Made in the USA as well! I was surprised to see it was true, according to their web page, the product is made in Arizona by a private label lab (GreenPeach is in CA).This product is not like the standard 1 drop for 400ui, rather it takes 4, but once the drops flow, they come out fast, so be ready to tip the bottle back upward. I placed 5 drops into a spoon to try it myself, and the flavor is very minor, just a tinge of olive oil. It blended very well with milk, and the kid had no problem at all. This is probably more suited for bottle feeding rather than the single drop dose which can be more versatile for other methods.Overall value is good, similar to the other brands. Each bottle has 30 doses, or 120 drops, so 1 order of 3 bottles is good for an infant for 3 months. Your pediatrician may suggest 600ui at a certain age, which is a total of 6 drops. The bottle is vented unlike the baby d drops. This makes it flow much faster, but there is less risk of an overdose since an extra drop is just 100ui, not 400 like the other brands. As always, consult your pediatrician if there is any concern!

The 3 pack is a better value

Compact and easy for the kids to take. Literally no taste so they dont even know! I love the small containers for taking on trips as well. Nice value pack of three bottles. 4 drops is one serving size for 400 IU of vitamin D and 90 servings per bottle. Our doctor wanted the kids to be taking about 2000 IU a day. We try to eat foods rich in vitamin D, which we know can be challenging to get kids to each fish. We typically buy our orange juice and dairy products fortified with vitamin D as well. We give them 4 drops in the morning and 4 more drops in the evening for a total of 8 drops / 800 IU per day to supplement the foods. We have been using this brand for 4 months, the three pack is the best bargain.

    Organic Vitamin D drops...

I like these Vitamin D drops. It seems confusing at first that they are marketed for infants, kids, and adults with no distinction as to the recommended dosages for each age or size group. The serving size and suggested use is 4 drops, into formula or a bottle. I used prescription drops from the pediatrician with a recommended dose so follow whatever your pediatrician recommends if these are for your infant. I take around 5 drops daily as an adult but often the drops come out so quickly that I end up getting 6 or 7 drops. Not a big deal. The carrier oil is olive which is a mild flavor. Would definitely order again.
